If you're looking for a little winter heat, this steamy jaguar shifter romance by USA Today bestselling author Terry Spear has everything you need:

  • A fierce jaguar shifter who puts everything on the line to protect her ward
  • A fearless military man who can tear down any obstacle stupid enough to get in his way
  • A shift of fate that brings them together for a holiday they'll never forget
  • There are all kinds of surprises under the mistletoe, but neither of them thought being captured by the shifter would be the best Christmas present ever...

As a protector of all jaguar-kind, Guardian agent Demetria MacFarlane isn't surprised to get a call near Christmas—but when she's sent to protect a cub whose species she didn't even know existed, her holiday season gets complicated. And it doesn't help that her partner is a distraction of the hottest kind.

Hotshot JAG agent Everett Anderson can handle dangerous poachers and wildlife traffickers, no problem...but kids? Everett fears he'll be stuck cub-sitting under the Christmas tree, but working with one sexy Guardian she-cat may be the best present he's ever gotten.

A long-delayed romance blooms between two werejaguars trying to return a child home in time for Christmas in this sweet and breezy tale that’s light on tension and suspense. Everett Anderson and Demetria MacFarlane are working on integrating the branches of the werejaguar defense agency in Dallas, Tex., when they get a call about an abandoned child. He turns out to be another kind of shifter, one that the werejaguars had no idea even existed. Everett and Demetria act on the strong feelings they’ve long had for each other as they search for the child’s family. Their biggest obstacle is the child’s kindred’s matching skepticism about jaguar shifters, but even that is easily overcome as the various plot threads flow smoothly toward happy resolutions. The emphasis on superficial Christmas elements—lights, trees, presents, visits to Santa—make this a pleasant Yuletide read, but it lacks depth.

When a strange wolf-pup child is dropped off at a jaguar day-care center just before the holidays and the parents can't be found, JAG agent Everett Anderson finds himself helping Guardian Demetria MacFarlane tend to the boy as they try to find his missing family. Romance blossoms between the pair as they track down cross-country leads, but as neither shifter species had known the other existed, the situation takes on a dangerous, unpredictable edge, making the search a lot more complex and wide-ranging. VERDICT This sensuous, heartwarming romance, enhanced by an adorable wolf pup and wintertime fun, puts an intriguing paranormal spin on the season and forges a welcome link with Spear's wolf-shifter titles. Spear (Billionaire in Wolf's Clothing) lives in Texas.
