Designer Leapman (Knitting Modular Shawls) presents 24 projects for busy knitters in this colorful if uneven collection of quick projects intended to make a splash on social media. The ideas are organized by time required, ranging from less than five hours to more than 30, though they’re a mixed bag: the “Just Swirling Around” hat, “Speckles” fingerless mittens, and “Sona” cowl stand out with lovely stitch definition and pops of color, but Leapman fails to impress when it comes to some unflattering sweaters and cardigans that feel outdated with their bulky designs. In a nice touch, each is accompanied by a hashtag knitters can use when posting to compare with the work of other crafters who have tried their hand with an item. A solid resources section features instructions for common and lesser-known stitches that are used in the projects, such as “knit in the row below” and “purl in the row below.” This is best suited for newbies or knitters looking for simple projects.
